Addressing the creditors and shareholders of the Canadian-Australian Koyal Mail Company, Mr Geo. S. Barnes, official receiver, said that the operations of the company during the last 10 months showed an apparent deficiency of L 41.000. The representative of the New Zealand Shipping Company alleged that the deficiency amounted to LG3.474. Mr. James Huddart entered a demnrrer.

The Vice-admiralty Court dismissed the application to stay the proceedings that was made on behalf of the official receiver and tbe Cauadian-Pacific Steamship Company in the case of Mort's Dock Company v. the steamship company.

In connection with tiie proceedings referred to iv the foregoing cablea it is oE interest to mention that jußt as the R.M.S. Aorsngi, of the Canadian-Australian line, was about to sail from Sydney for Vancouver on tha sth inst., a warrant was served on the* vessel, and acting under this Bepaty-mawbal Spain, of tbe Viceadmiralty Court, seized the vessel. The usual mode of procedure was followed of. naiiiug the writ to the foremast, water police and officers of the Admiralty Court being placed on board to prevent the mail boat proceeding to sea. The Aorangi was all ready to sail, htivit.g embarked passengers and shipped the mails, and pending a settlement of the difficulty tbe agento: Mecsrs Huddart, Parker, and Co., hauled the vcssol off from the wharf to an anchorage id Neutral Bay. She remained there until 5 o'clock on tbe afternoon of the 6th', when, matters having been satisfttCtorilyarrangeti, the vessel was released, and she immediately nroceeded on her voyage. Later on the Miowtra, of the same line, which arrived in Pott Jacksnn during the day, wan hoarded by the Vice-i-.simiralty authorities and a writ of a similar character served ou those in charge.
