Lnvercargill, December 30.—Oats: Feed—A grade, 2s; B do. Is llld ; C do, Is 10id; scarce and hard to buy. Ryegrass seed (machinedressed), 3s 4d to 4s ; marketfirm. Linseed; £11; none offering. Wheat, 4s to 43 3d nominally. Above quotations are f.o.b. at Bluff, sacks in.

COUNTRY SALES.

Mes3rs Macleax and Co. report having held a clearing sale at Waitapeka on account of Messrs Wise Bros, on the 23rd inst. Considering the distance the attendance was very good and bidding fairly brisk. Sheep, horses, implements, Ac, sold well, all things considered, and everything oifered found buyers at satisfactory prices. The same firm also report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Balcluthz on the 24th. The entry-was a good one, and buyers being disposed to do business all lots offered found outlet at full values—viz.: Hoggets, to 9s ■Jd; wethecs, to 12s ; pig«, to £0« ; steers, to £3 10s; cows and heifers, to £4 10s; yearliDgs, to 17* 6a ; borsts at satisfactory prices. : , .
