The weather continues hot. For fiveconsecntive days the thermomster has been over lOOdeg. A number of. , infant?, children, and old people have succumbed to tha effects of the heat.- Animals are suffering severely, and poultry are dying on all hands. Toe director of ton Zoo. states that, he never saw animals so affected. Ssveral valuable exhibits died to-day. The majority are only kept alive by hosing them wit- U cold water.
