THE BLOCK ON THE CABLES.
Pras3 Association—By Telegraph -Copyright. Mecbouanb, March 27. I There is a disposition in some quarters to j connect the cable interruption with the Cretan troubles, but the cable authorities consider there is not the slightest ground for the supposition. They explain that the two cables which have given way are a considerable distance south of the seat of the disturbance, and European warships are patrolling tha neighbouring seas to prevent acts of aggression. The two line 3 between Malta and Alexandria have never previously been interrupted simultaneously, and it is surmised the present break is the result of a local submarine disturbance. Tha delaj in messages is the outcome of overworking the remaining lines.
(Pee United Pkbss Association.) Wakapuaka, March 27. The Cable Company are advised that tlie cables ars broken close to Alexandria. The sea is very rough, but it is going down. Attempts to repair the cable will be made to-day.
