OUR VOLUNTEERS.
Colonel Webb inspected the Duaedin Engineers at tha Garrison Hall on Wednesday evening. Owiog to the upper hall being engaged otherwise the inspection took place in the gunroom, and the sections were afterwards told off for instruction in the manual and firing exercise under the section commanders. The inspecting officer expressed himself as being wtll pleased with the state of the arms and accoutrements and tho general appearance and muster of the. corpa. There was a, total of 60 on parade. It was notified th»t. in accordance with instmoiioos received from Wellington, the proposed Easter camp of instruction would require to be abandoned The Shooting Comluittes imt after the parade and made a number of arrangements. It was announced that Mr Or. Lawrence had donated a eilvei- medal to be competed for by second-class shots. A vote of thinks w»s passed to Mr L»wrence for his trophy. A curd patty, promo-ed by the Amusement Committee of the corps, w&s held in the Engineers' orderly roam last evening, when, notwithstanding the inclement weather, a large number of tho members took part, and an enjoyable eveniDg was spent.
