ANNIVERSARY DAY.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —Allow me through the medium of jour paper to protest against another holiday en Tuesday next. What with the Wednesday half-holiday, the Saturday half-holiday, and tbe other holidays, to which there seems no limit, it is preposterous to add to the number. Personally I have no objection to Anniversary Day being substituted for cue of the other holidays, and I may state further that I am in the same position as the majority of the gentlemen who met last night to advocate it, in. so far as I won't be a shilling out of pocket by Hie keeping of it, but I know there are hundreds ot workers in business places in this city who will be 3hut oat and lose their day's wages, notwithstanding that they have more idle time thau they think is good fer them or than they can afford.—l am, fee.,
