LICENSING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
Chhistchubck.—Messrs B. Smith, W. Langdown, T. Gapes, F. Trent, and L. J. C. Maddison have been elected unopposed ss the Christehurch' Licensing Committee.. AH were members of he old committee.
Egmont. —Some of the nominees for the Egmoat licensing election having withdrawn, the returning officer declared the election lapsed. This is the result of an agitation to have the administration in the hands of the S.M.
Tahanaki.—The following licensing comnsibtee -.vtxe elected without a contest:—W. Bayly, J. S. M'Kellar, F. J. Mace, R. Maxwell, "\V. L. Newman. The Temperance party did not nominate.
Cakterton. — Six nominations have been received for the Carberton Licensing Committee, including ■ five of the old members. Two nominations mere rejected because they were those of shareholders of the Farmers' Co-operath-e Association, who hold a wholesale license.
