THE WOOL SALES.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. hare received the following cablegram from their head office,

dated London, ■ lOfch inst. :—" Wool salea closed fairly animiitL'd, but lately reported rates are hardly maintained. Oat of the 199,000 bales .available, 67.000 have been sold for-home corwumption, 90,000 biles for the Continent, and 22,000 for America, leaving 20,000 bales to be carried forward to nexb sales. Compared with closing r*tes of last tales, grew merino, good combing fleece and pieces, are 5 to 8 pec cent, higher; greasy merino, medium' and inferior flsece, par to 5 p«r cent, higher; crossbredf, par to 5 per cent. hi(?hor; good scoured wool?, a change, if any, in iv favour of sellers ; medium aud inferior scoured wools 5 per cent, higher." ■ '
