SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The ordinary meeting of the Ravensbourne School Committee was held in the sohoolhouse on Monday evening, tbe Rev. Mr Ash presiding, and Messrs Jack, Henderson, Forrester, M'Cullocb, and , Minn being present. An apology was received from Mr F. G. Cray. In the matter of corporal punishment it was unanimously resolved—" That in tho opinion of this committee the regulations are unnecessary and uncalled for." A complaint was made by the janitor that certain youths not attending the school bad, oa Sunday night week, about 8 o'clock, thrown stones on the roof of the school and had damaged the fence and rung the school bell. The committee resolved that the culprits be cautioned and the clerk be instructed to notify the patents that such conduct if repeated would lie punished by action being taken against the boys. Accounts amounting to £19 odd were passed for payment, and several small, works authorised to be done.
