RE POST OFFICE LETTER BOXES.

TO thk kditou. Sic, —In Saturday mornings-issue of your paper I noticed a letter charging me with a serious ueglect of duty re the matter of clearing pillar boxes,, signed by oue styling himself '■ One in Business." Now, bad " Oue in Business" used the power i of observation which a gentleman of his supposed standing should undoubtedly possess before flying into print aud setting himself up ts au authority, he would have noticed that iuside the pillar box there is sliding pauel,-which must be shut before the box can ba locked Now, Sir, on tbe morning in question I oponed the box as usual, when a few letters fell out, and after I hud cleared tb* bux I picked those up, and while they were still in ray band I cloied.the inside panel, afterwards putting the letters iv my bag, hence "One in BusiuesaV delusion. I may also. state tbat I haye been employed by Mr Christie (the contractor) for some four ye«s now clearing ; letter boxes, aud bsve never yet left auy bsbind ; besides, it i-" of no interest to me to do so. If " Ooe iv Business " sees lit to reply to this letter I hope he will—as a matter of justice to my character—sign bi« name, as, 1 believe, most business ihon are in the habit of doing, and not write under a norn de plume,—l am, &c, Duuedin, Oct. 10. James J. Kikkwooo.
