FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

The foitnightly masting of the Loyal Hand and Hsart Lodge, M.T7.1.0.0.F., was held in tho locige room lurt evening, N.G, Bro. 0. Simmons in tho chair. Aftsr the correspondence was read and dealt with, it was moved and carried—"That the lodge be declared out of mourning to enable it to so into harmony." The following brothers rontiibnted songs :-D P.G.M. Bro. BrnndeU, P.G. Bro. West, P.G. Bro. Jiobertson, Bros. Brenchley, Swan, and Searle. f.G. Bro. G. B. Weat presided at the piano. This is the second of a series of musical evenings, which promise to be very popular in the lodae. Three candidates were mads members of the lodgr, and two proposed for uiemberahip. N.G. Bro. (jearle (of the Loyal Caversham Lodge) and D.P.G.M. Bro. B rondel I (of Loyal Duoedin Lfidge) responded to the second toast, P.G.M. Bio. Clarke and D.P.G M. Bro. Brundell responded to tho third toaßton behalf of tho district. Bro. T. J. Fitzpatrick, a visitor from Auckland, also responded to the second toast. Receipts, £oi 4s 6d. The N.G. gave notice that the first of the winter socials in connection with the lodge would ba held on Tuesday, the 19tti May The Hopa of Jtornington Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held their weekly meeting on Monday evening, Bto. Paters&n, U.T., in the chair. During tha evening the following ofheers were nominated and elected for the eusuinc quatter :—C.T., Bro. Paterson; V.T., Sis. PMier; secretary, Bro. Smith ; f .S., Sis. Clarke; T., Sis. A. Watrta ;C, Sis Paterson; M., Bro. Wilson; D.M., Bro. Hannah; G, Bro. Hobbs; sentinel, Sia. Chapman ; assistant-secretary, Sis. It. Watts. Tho lodge then went into harmony, Bongs being contributed by Bro. Newall (D«yspring), Sis. Ktcher, and Bros. >itcher mid Smith; readings and recitations by Bros. Haanah, Dunn, and Patterson,
