The third of tho series of races for Mr Hsyward's painting was got off by the club oa Saturday afternoon, at Lake Logan. All the models wiU tho ezcaptioa ef tbe Pirate went off on tin starboard tank. O* Ihr. models tackiajf it wa< noticed thst Pirate hat gained a splendid lead off the hill by the hs^iij, which enabled her to fetoh eons to the turning murk. In ths meantime the Britannia, wss gradually overhauling the Pirate's closest Btiendante, viz.—Phantom, Pastime, and CoUraia. Tho Pirate was toe first to gctronnd the mark tot tbe run, followed by Phantom, Britannia, and Pastime, with Flora neti some distance astern. Oa tho beat down for the second time the Pirate had a lead of six minutes from Britannia, tie eecond boat. A close a.nd interesting rcco ensued on the beat np and run between Britannia and Pastime. Oo the beat down for tbe last time the Britannia and Pastime had gfcined considerably on the Pirate, owing to her losing & lot of ground at the turning flugs, and an interesting race wss eagerly looked forward to. On tho bto?za freshening, however, the little Pirate sailed in great ntyle to windwaid, leaving the other two some distance astern; bat oo the run home for tho last time she lost considerably. However, sho finished first, two minntes ahead of Britannia, with Pastime third ciose up on tho second boat, the others having given up the chiiw. The Britannia thus wins the paiutiug, which went to the one F.coring 12 points. Tha poiots scored in the three racis are a* follow :— Bdtimnia, U ; Sunbesm, 10 ; Pirate, 6 ; Colonia and Pattims, 2.
