Bib, —A few days ago in a. letter entitled "Cultivating the diaper" I called attention to the reckless ratravagaace which characterise* our charitable aid administration. Since then tbe trustees of the Charitable Aid and Hospital Board» L.ut. held their monthly meet* ingB. And whttt do wo find ? First,, let nt beyond simply noting the fact charitably overlook the chairman'* lama explanation of th« cause of the secretary's resignation, and, secoad, that tbe hoards are again going to saddle the ratepayer* with a secretary at £125 per annum ; again perpetuating extravagance, squandering public money, and creating a billet. Wby, Sir, I am sate there are many respectable firms or accountants who would gladly undertake ill the secretarial wotk of these superfluous trusts, and Sod them office accommodation, &u. for their monthly meetings in addition, for from £35 to £50 per annum at the outside. —I am, &c, Danedin, March 20.
