The Duuodin an<i Kiikorai Tram Company wrote in reference to vhe taking of a strip of land, under the Public Works Act, from High street to the Town Belt, «nd reqaetted the council to leavu the matter in tho hands of the company's solicitor.—Received.

I The Finsnce Committee recommended that Mr John Fraeer's application to rent the piece of ground to the south tide of the road through j section 113, Wakari, be granted, during the j i»iesflure of the council, at the annual rental of £2 10*; the area of landletto bel£acres, and the I balance of the land to be reserved as a dep&t for i the storage of broken metal and stone. They j recommended that the estimates of receipts and expenditure for the year, amounting to £1337 2s lOd and £1887 2s lOd respectively, be approved.
