The Cup Committee have decided that the Oceana Club have won the junior competition.

A: very enjoyable game was played at Port Chalmers on Wednesday afternoon between a local team and, one froru H:M.S Rapid. The latter, KoiDg in first, made 74, of which Gidfroy (23 not out;, Corben (13), ind Pops (12) contributed thuir ruus by good cricket. The Port team responded with 117. Waters (24), Neil (22), Main .(21); and T. S. Crawford (16) being the, principal contributors. In their second innings' the Rapid scored 37. Poae being responsible for 16. The Port thus won by an innings and 6 runs. In the bowling department Neil (eight for, 26 runs) and J. H. CraWford (six for 19) were most successful for the wini>ers, and Hanks and Smith bowled best for the losers. After the match ttie visitors were entertained by the local men. .

A match was played on Wednesday afternoon *t the Oval between the University Cricket Club and a combined team, the latter winning by 37 runs on the first innings. Scored : University, 24 (Neil 11) ; Combined Team, 61 (L. White 18, A. White 12). For the University, Neil (lire for 21), O'Shen (five for 23), and for the Combined Team A White (six for 10), Duncan (two for 12) bowled well.
