THIRD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP.

The Albion and Opoho met on the Oval (on a. wickot kindly provided by the..U.S.S. Company), and resulted in a decisive win for the former by an innings and 34 runs. Batting first the Opoho totalled 31, Smith (14) being highest scorer. The Albion Replied with 71 (Ringer 19, M'Connochie 17, Duke 13). Opoho in their second innings only scored 6 (3 runsand 3 extras). Duke (10 wickets for 10 runs) and Dickel (six wickets for no runs) bowled well for the Albion, while Coombs was the most successful for Opoho. The Grange-Oceana mot on the North ground, the latter winning by 32 runs. Tho Oceana batted first, and totalled 51; J. King was higest scorer with 11, Graham (8) also batting well. The Grange failed to make any stand against tbe bowling of J. King and Barke, aad their inning, only realised 19 runs. Burke, who performed the hat trick, secured six wickets for 6, and King threo for 12. Crosbie and Brookes bowled well for the Grange. The unfinished match Oceana v. Mornington will be continued to-morrow (Tuesday) evening at 6 o'clock at Mornington. The match Mornington v. Dunedin resulted in a win for Mornington by eight wickets and 3 rung. Soore9: Mornington, 42 (Gillies 14, Scoular 11) and 30 for two wiokets (Lowry not out 22) ; Dunedin, 49 (Ferguson 23) and 20 (Ferguson 10). White bowled well for Mornington, and Aitken for Dunedin secured five wickets for no iuos. j
