Grange v. Albion*. The Albion met the Grange for the r.turn match on thoir own wicket. The Grange bated first, and the rain having mads the ball difficult for the bowlers to hanale the Albion were kept fielding all day, while the Granga compiled a score of 181. The finding of the Albion was very poor, and some of the team would be all the better for practising a little catching. The first to represent the Grange were Baker and Johnston, of whom the former •was dismissed at 21. Parker stayed till 44 was reached, and then retired. A. Downes, who_ joined Johnston, m-.de things lively, scoring 20 in about 10 minutes, and was then dismissed. B-_it quickly left, but Dawes helped Johnston to carry the to,tal from 68 to 100, when Anderson, who was bowling well, got a ball past Johnston. Wilkinson, who came next, had scored 2 when he hit his wicket, but as the umpire did not see it ho gave tbe batsman in. The very next ball, however, Wilkinson repeated tho performance and retired. Haydon knocked up 12 and gave way to J. Downes, who very soon lost his partner, given out leg be'ore wicket to Ritchie. Restieaux joined Downes. and by careful play the score was carried to 170 before the former was caught, while at 181 Downes was also caught. Scores:— Giunge.—First Innings. Opoho v. Donedis. The match Dunediu v. Opoho was commenced on the Caledonian ground on Saturday, and so far the game is iv a very interesting state. Rain delayed the start till about 3 p.m., when the Opoho skipper (who lost the toss) led his men into the field. Sanderson had prepared a good wicket, but the rain that fell suited the bowlers. The Dunedin ioDingi realised 80 rues, towards which total Beck (who carried his bnt right through the innings) contributed 31 by careful and steady play. This player is fast coming back to his very best form. Latham put together 10 by attractive cricket before he was splendidly taken by Turnbull ia the slips. None of the other batsmen gjt into double figures. Wells bowled very successfully, securing eight wickets for 33 runs, and none of the batsmen seemed at homo to him. The Opoho inning* opened very disastrously, Latham clean bowling both Boddington and Turnbull in his first over. Haskell succumbed shortly after to a beauty from M'Croiie, and the telegraph showed three for 8. Clarke, the incomer, helped to take the score to 22, when Latham beat Gooch, and one run later Clarke was caught at short leg off the same bowler, while Richards was bowled at 24. Wells and Webb took the score to 41, when time was called. Latham bowled Bplendidly, securing four wickets for 18. Score? :—

After a lapse of half an hoar the rain stopped. Rains and A. Fisher were the first batsmen, both of whom played very steadily until Fisber poked an easy eaten to mid-on. Clayton, the incomer, assisted Ruins- ta carry the .core to 47, when Reins was caught behind the wickets. Spraggon took hia place, and at once began to hit out, soon scoring 31, but was then caught by H. Fisher off his own bowling. W. Burt played very carefully for 22, and Q. Austin for 23.
