DUNEDIN AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB,

A committee meeting hold on Friday evening in Mr 0. H. Moller'B rooms, was attended by Messrs W. L. Hooper (in tho chair), J. C. Smith, B. J. Gibb, G. Driver, 0. H. Moller, H. E. Moller, W. B. Eyre (hon. secretary). The action of the executive in fixing the next olub race for next Wednesday evening at St. Clair was approved, and it was decided to also hold a 50yds handiosp for hoys under 15 on the samo evening. The Secretary reported that Mr B. Maitlaud had intimated his intention of giving a donation towards the prize fund, an announcement which was received with much satisfaction. A sub-committee was appointed to arrange details in connection with the annual tournament, at which it is expected several Christchurch swimmers will compete. Nine new members were elected. A Wellington telegram sttt:s that all the Napier horses engaged at the Racing Club's meeting have arrived overland, and a further contingent from the south reached Wellington by the Penguin. The meeting promises to be one of the most successful held for years. A large number of visitors are arriving in town. Mblbouhke, January 18. At the V.A.T.C. meeting the Anniversary Handicap resulted as follows: —Bung Bung 1, Trent 2, Captain Swift 3. Niue horees started. Won easily. Time, lmin 18sec.
