RECOMMENDATIONS of the ■;'V CONFERENCE. Preiu Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SyDNEY, January 19! The 'Pacific Cable Conference has concluded "its' deliberations. It adopted recommendations in favour of the construction of a cable.touching only on territory owned by tbe British Empire, the, cost to bo borne in equal thirds by Great Britain, Canada, and the Australasian colonies, the route'to be via Fanning Island, Fiji, and Norfolk Island, thence- bifurcating to New Zealand and Moreton Bay. ;.-.'. The Agents-general of New South Wales and Victoria were selected as Australasian delegates to the Imperial Oolonial Conference to be held in London to discuss the question. ' The position of Sonth Australia in regard to the new line was discussed at great length, the Conference recommending her to join in. Finally it was resolved that Dr Cook? burn should make a proposition embodying tbe terms on which bis oolony was prepared to come in. It is understood that the proposal ie that the other colonies should meet South I Australia' by pooling the coat,of the Port Darwin line, on tbe basis of business done over it daring the last five years.
