She left the Rattray street wharf yesterday afternoon on her return trip to the West Coast, via Timaru. The s.s. Tokomara, which Bailad on Saturday evening for London, via WeUington, took the following cargo from this port:—99o bales wool, 3 do basils; 24 do leather, 2 do glue pieces, and 1 case sundries. , „- ~ The Bchooner Isabella Anderson left Dnnedin yesterday morning with cargo for Kaipara. _ The Hnddart-Parker Company's s.s. Anglian, From Sydney, via the East Coast ports, arrived at Port Chalmers at an early hour yesterday rooming, and, while passing up the harbour, took thd fround a little above the Quarantine Island. She nras promptly tendered by the Harbour Board s tngs, and afterwards put out cargo into the welrV known barque Frederick Bassil, which conveyed it to Dnnedin. Mr J. Mill is evidently ever on the alert with his steamers, and it is obvious that vessels coming here and passing up the harbour are also well looked after by the chief harbourmaster. Captain M'Callum. That gentleman noticed the contretemps to the s.s. Anglian yesterday, and at once ordered out the tug steamers to her assistance. He. also personally went to the aid of the Anglian, and displayed his best efforts in getting her clear of her very unpleasant position. The Anglian was floated off early in the evening, and reached the wharf at 7 p.m. She left Sydney on the B'.h inst. at 6.40 p.m., and reached Auckland at 3 p.m. on the 13th. Leaving Auckland at 3 p.m. on the 14th, she called at Gisborne, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton. leaving the latter port at 10.45 sum. on Saturday and reaching Otago Headi at 4 c.m. yesterday. The s.s. Invercargill arrived at the Rattray street wharf at 4.20 p.m. yesterday. She left Invercargill on Friday for Preservation and arrived at Cromarty next day at 4 a.m.; sailed for Danedin at 7.45 p.m., and called at the Bluff at 3 a.m. on Sunday; sailed again at 4 a.m., and arrived as above. She had strong W. winds from Invercargill to Cromarty, and left the inlet with a strong N.W. wind, which chopped into W.S.W., blowing a hard gale np to arrival.
