Mr'Caubkon reported that the deputation from the coancil h&d waited on the High Schools' Board of Governoro, and urged the desirability of the board taking staps, together with tba university, for the teaching of German. The deputation was told that the board were not goiti£ to neglect the subject of German, but proposed making suitable arrangements for teaching it. Mr Allen said tha board bad not como to auy actual conclusion about tbs matter, but were quite prepared to provide for the teaching of GermaD.
