Jarvis (not out) 12 Lyous 29 Extras 5 Darby 33 — Hill 2 Total ... 131 Howell took five wickets for 44- runs, M'Kibbin four for 73, Ricba:daon one for 8. The coll&p'e of the home teim is partially due to the intense heat which was experienced today, the thermometer (■hosing the record for year—viz., 106 in tbe shade. M'Kibbin clean bowled Giffen with a beautiful leg break, before he had a chance to score. Lyons had a short but merry lit*. Darling and A. Jarris made the only stand of the iuniuga, both showing fine cricket. Howell displayed excellent judgment with the ball. A mixed team of the Albion Gric'iet Club played a match with the Bruce Cricket Club at Milton on tbe 2ad January. Plsy was commenced at 11 a.m., and the Albion, baitimr. first,'made a very poor stand, only sewing 34----runs, the bowling of Murray (sis for 11) and Johnson (four for 21) beiD(j very destructive. The team had evidently enjoyed thair holiday at Lawrence, and the small score roust be attributed to this. The Bruce C!ub at luncheon time had seven wickets down for 22 runs, but rain coming on made ilia ball very greasy, and afterwards they-added 21 rens for the remaining wiekois. Corbntt and Joel were iho trundlers for the Albion. In tbe second innings the Albion had no wickets down for 10 ruiiß when rain put a atop to tbe play. The Bruce Club thus won on the first iunings by 9 runs. The visitors were entertained at lunch by the local team, who all speak well of their treatment both at Lawrence and Milton.
