SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The monthly meeting of the Union street School Committee was held in tfce schoolhouse on Tuesday night, there being present—Messrs Mejget (in the chair), Israel, Selby, Lawrence, Sbelton, DuCuie, White, Christie, and Gillies. Tho head muster reported thitt the numbec of pupils on the roll at the ecd of September was 618, and the average a',t*n.isnca for thii, month w«:s 536 (boys 239, girls 2+7).
