The Hon. Mr PHARAZYN asked the Colonial .Secretary if he will be good enough to iuform the Council how much ammunition: is in reserve in the colony?

The hon. gentleman had placed himself within the four corners of the Militia and Volunteers Secret Act, and had himself liable for penalties at law. A message intimated that the House disagreed with the Council's amendments in the j Family Homes Protection Bill.

The Hon. Sir P. BUCKLEY, moved the second reading of the Wages Attachment Abolition Bill.

: The -Hon. Mr STEWART thought if the wages of workmen were protected to a pound par week it would be sufficient. A man might have been out of work for months, and it would be only fair in such instances that a man should b« enabled to keep sufficient out of his wages to maintain his family. After debate the second reading was agreed to. ; : - ■ THE BANKING COMMITTEE. The Council then temp'orarly adjourned, and on resuming at 4 30 p.m. the report of the Joint Banking was submitted. The Imprest Supply Bill, No. 3, was read a first time. At 5 p.m. the Council adjourned till 2.30 next day.
