SCHOOL COMMITTEES' CONFERENCE.
An adjourned meeting of delegates from tho city and snburban'school committees wao held at the Normal School last night, when there ' were-present :—Mr J. While (Audereon's Bay), Messra A. Eleggst'and. G. C. lev&sl (Union street), H. WAite>nd.G. J. Andersou (Albany street),' A. Sligo (Arthur street), J. W. Roberts and George Calder (North-EMt Valley), H. Wabb and J.. 5. Atnolfl (MorDiogton), T. K. Sidey (Cavtrahftm). An apology for nonatl;er:dan«) was received from Mr M. Fraer. The rtEolutions received from the Scuth Gantorbury School Gomniittees' Confcteuce at lash ineetiug came .up for consideration.' The first cf these was as follows:—"That one uniform set of school books be used throughout (he colony; chaages to' be made only at intervals of hob less 'than three jeara; the education boards to supply books at cosfc price." r The Chaikman (Mr. J. White) pointed out tbat a motion h*d been carried with regard to the matwr soice time ago.
