Such labour is really not cheaper, and where it has been tried—as in Qaeensland—the nortality amongst ■ the colourbreds has been enormou«, while it leads to the decimation of the islands. Two others dissented on the ground of expense, a3 the Chinese lad already demonstrated that the Territory was suited to tropical cultivation.
