The Works Committee of ths association have now allocated most of the money in different works in and around the city, aad will report accordingly at Monday's meeting. They will also' salect more men this morning. ** ' The Napior bootmakers have forwarded £10 to tho nifin on strike in Brisbane. __ The Master Printers' Association have been informed by the Hon. W. P. Reeves that the Maaterand Apprentice Bill,-when presented to the House, will bo' found to differ in many respects from previooo drafts.

DUNBDIN ; JOCKEY CLUB,

The monthly meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club, held last evening, was attended by Messrs Gourley (chairman), Taggart, Fleming, Short, isleenan. Cook. Miller^ and Lintott. It was decided that all training feea must be paid before sth August, otherwise the horses will not fee allowed on the course/ ' 'A farther subscription of £5 was voted to J. Larson from the distressed jockeys' fund. LANCASTER PARK TROTTING CLUB. (Per United Press Association.) Christchobch, July 25. The Lancaster Park Amateur Trotting Club's Winter meeting wa* held to-day. The course was very heavy, and ia consequence Rita, Felix, Kentuoky, Prince Victor, La Rue, Maud V, and Bevcral others did nob start. The sum of £2788 wad passed through the totalisator.
