The strange part of it is that they have used them already—every shilling of them—and replaced them by . debentures under the Consolidated Stock Act, Westport Harbour Board deben^ tures, Treasury bills, and what not. What the Treasurer claimed was the right to use them twice over! Well, I never! First he takes the people's money and puts the colony's'l O Uin the cashbos, and then offers the same I O TT to Loridbn: mousy-lenders. Ye gods and little fishes !—I am, &c, ■ ■ . .
