She left Westport/at 11 p.m. of the Ilth in^t., called at Wellington, * Lyttelton, Akaroa, Timarn, and Oama.ru ; left the latter port at 0.30 p.m. yesterday ,■ and arrived as above. She had fine weather throughout the passage. The Timaru Harbour Board's dredge Timara ' arrived at; Port Chalmers at 0.30 p.m. yesterday, and steamed direct into the graving dock for cleaning, painting, and thorough overhaul. She left Titnaru at 8.30 p.m. on the Ifa'th iugt. The . Shaw, Savill. and Albion Company's steamer Rangatira left the George street pier at 11.30 a.m.- yesterday for London, via LyttKltou, and will leave Lyttelton on the 24th inst. She j took on board the following additional car^o: - 4732 carcases' frozen mutton, 33 crates rabbits, 299 hales wool, 16 do sheepskins, 72 do rabbitskiDt, 33 | do basils, i) do leather, 2 do horsehair, 130 sacks grass seed, 40 casks pelts, 46 bags zinc ashes, 343 ingots spelter, and 5 pkgs sundries. We aw anxiously .expecting the arrival of the barquentine Delmira, which is now well due from the Maiden Islands. '. The ship Waimate, from London for this port and the Bluff,. is hourly expected to put in her appearance at the heads. She is now 97 days out. The s.s. Hauroto will arrive at Port Chalmer3 this morning _and leave again in the afternoon for Melbourne, viathe Bluff and Hobart.

With reference to Notice to Mariners, No. 44 of 1894, it is netified that the shoal referred to therein, which will be known as '.'Perano Shoal," and which lies off the eastern head of Blackwood Bay, yueen Charlotte Sound, has been surveyed by Captain Fairchild, of the Government steamer Hinemoa. The centre of the shoal is in latitude 41deg 13miri 41see, and longitude 174dtg 7min lOsec X., and it runs in a south-west and northeast direction threquartera of a cable. There is three fathoms of water 011 the shallowest part of the shoal at low-water spring tides. A red cask buoy has been moored on the south side of this danger at 3J fathoms of water, with 8 fathoms 30ft south of the buoy. Ships navigating this part of Queen Charlotte Sound should pass on the south Bide, of the above-mentioned bnoy. All bearings are correct magnetic;
Captain Fairchild, of the Government steamer Hinemoa, has surveyed Hapuka Shoul, in Croi-. selles Harbour, and found that it is in latitude 4ldes3mmsU36cS., and longtitude 173ieg :ißmin Jssec It..;_that is three-quarters of a'cable's length in extent, and has^i fathoms of water ou the shallowest part of.it at low water springtides, with deep water all round. Captain Fairchfld, of the Government steamer Hinemoa, has surveyed toe rock in Croiselles Harbour reported by Mr Mace, and found that, it lies a quarter of a mile north-north-eaet of Hypolite Point, and is just awash at low water springtides. To keep clear of this danger shipa, when in its vicinity, should not come inside of a straight line drawn between Cape Soucis and Lone Rock All bearings are correct magnetic.
