It will bs remembered that daring the trial at Invercargill of Minnie Dean for the murder of Dorothy Edith Carter, Mr AC. Hanlon, coausel for the prisoner, objected'to the admissioa of evidence relating to tbe disappearance of Eva Horusby, aud t) the tiudingof taesktsleton of another child iv Mrs Dean's garden. £Ir Justica Wiiliaros overruled the objection, as'he believed it; to be without solid foundation, but-: at thes*me time he said he wbiild not declare the objection frivolous, and took a note of it so that the Attorney-general might bo moved'to have the point argued. "Mr Hanloa intends to apply at once to the Attorney-general for authority .to move the Court of Appeal. If that authority is grantedi and the Courc of Appeal gives leave, then a case will be stated and the law questions argued before the Appeal Court.
