SOCIAL GATHERING.

The.adult Bible Class of the Trinity Wesleyan Church held its first social gathering last evening in the schoolroom. Tea was s-pread at (5.30 p.m;, the tables being very tastily laid out by .the lady members with beautiful chrysanthemums, palms, and fern trees. About 120 persons were present, including the members, their friend's, and the Sunday school-teachers. After.justice had been done.to the good things the Rev. J. J. Lewis, the teacher of. the class, said he trusted one. and all would enjoy themselves, and gave a hearty invitation to those who were not members of the class to join at once; as next Sunday was the commencement of the study of the life of Joseph; ■The 101 lof members at present was'7o adults. The company then joined heartily in all kinds of parlour games, with soegs contributed by Misses Kate Shepard, Outred, Mabel Kehnard. Mrs Ackroyd, Messrs Tiuoley, Newton, and L. Booth. ' A piano solo was given by Miss Saidie Westp a piaao duet by Miss Agues Sparrow aud Mr H. B. Austing, a violin solo by Miss Maggie Sparrow, and a flute solo by Mr H. B. Austing (encored).
