Inverc&hgill, May 9. • At Winton tc-day Minnie Dean, T?3fe of Charles Dean, was arrested on a charge of haviug, on or about the 3rd inst, murdered an infant named Eva Hornsby. She was brought before the justices and remanded to the 16th insfc. to appear at Milton, Otago. The arrest was maae.Sy Detectives 51'Grratii (of D'onSdin) snd Hsrbbrc. Accusefl fias for several years made a-busioefs of Keepirijj infants, and wm once before the court on a charge of neg-lesfcing several cbildrcu under her cars, but was then scquitted. The police sre reticent as to the details of tiie presinii charge, bafc it ia understood that the infant was al>out a month, old.
