LAND BOARD.
Tho weekly meeting of the Land Board held yeaterday was attended by Messrs W. Dallas. (who occupied the chair), H. Clark, J. Duncan, and A. M'Kerrow. • . Tuapeka East.—An application by Mr Robert Cowie for a grazing right over section 51, blockX, Tuapeka East, was referred to the county' council to report if there was any objection to the reserve being leased. Wakatipu.—A letter from the manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company in regard to the rental of Run Mo. 27, Wakatipu, held by Mr Hugh M,'Keii_ie under pastoral license, was considered aud it was decided to reply that, unless the rent was paid, the Board would have no option other than to gazette tho run for forfeiture A letter was read from Mr Robert Hicks stating that he desired to abandon his license over section 25, block IV, Wakatipu, and the license was cancelled accordingly. HAMILTON'S.—An application by Mr W.Ed monds for an area of 10 or 12 acres at Hamiltons as a site for a slaughterhouse was referred to the chief surveyor for consideration wlien the land wits being surveyed. '.".'. Giuzingßight.—An application by Mr Robert M'Gregor forthe right of grazing over Runs 239, 338 c, and J.3Be, which were passed in' at the auction sale on the 28th ult., was considered, and it was agreed to offer the applicant, under clause 110 of the act, a yeaily license at a rental of £10 per annum. Lake Wanaka.—An application by Mr W. J. Anderton for a license to occupy part of Run 338 c, known as the Peninsula, Lake "Wanaka, was declined: ' Clyde.—Mr. J. S. Dickie requested that sections 1 and 2, block LII, Town of Clyde, be subdivided before being offered for sale, but the application was declined. Macraes—An application by Mr James Hartstonge for a license to occupy section 2, block I, Macraes, was declined. Budle—A letter from Mr William Dodd respecting quarry reserve 12, block 11, Budle, was referred to the ranger for a-report. Awamoko.—An application by Mr John Willets for a coal lease of 50 acres over section 76, block VIII, Awamoko, was considered, and it was agreed, subject to the approval of the Minister for Mines, to grant a lease for 21 years over the section at a rental of 2s per acre and 3d per ton royalty. Kawarau.—The application of Mr William Carline under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894, for an occupation license over 100 acres in block 111, Kawarau, was declined ; and the application of Mr William Cowan for an occupation license over 100 acres in block 111, Kawarau, was similarly treated. Maniototo.—Consideration of application by the Farmers' Agency Compauy, on behalf of Mr John Kearney, to occupy the township reserve in block VI, Maniototo, was deferred for a fortnight. Sutton.—Ranger Fraser having reported .upon Mr James Gilbert's application to occupy sections 19 and 20, block XIII, Sutton district, forest reserve, it was agreed to grant the applicant, under clause U6 of the act, a yearly license over section 20 and the eastern portion of section 19 at a yearly rental of £3 with license fee £1 Is. The consideration of Mr Alex. Moynihan's application to occupy portion of section 19, block XIII, Sutton district, forest reserve, was deferred until the applicant effects- residence on section 03, block TV, Sutton district.
