MAGISTEATE'S COURT.

Wednesday, January 23. (Before Mr E. H. Carew, S.M.)

Judgment was given for the plaintiffs, with costs, in the following undefended cases:—A. J. Park (for whom Mr W. C. MacGregor appeared) v. Helen Fraser (Glenorchy), claim £22 19s 7d, on a dishonoured promissory note; came v. Peter J. Healey (near Arrowtown), claim £11 6s 4d, balance due on a promissory note (judgment for £10 10a 4d).

James Brown v. Thomas M. Carroll.—Claim £i 12s 4d, on a judgment summons.—Mr Wilkinson appeared for the plaintiff.—There was no appearance of the defendant, and an order was made for the payment of the amount claimed, with coses, by monthly instalments, in default seven days' imprisonment.

Thomson, Bridger, and Co. v. George Smart.— Claim £29 6s 2d, on a judgment summnns —Mr Hosking appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr W. C. Macgregor for the defendant.—After evidence, the case was dismissed.
