THE RUAHINE AT WELLINGTON.

Wellington, November 6. — The Ruahine Arrived from London,, via Hobart, at 6.30 a.m. ■with 213 passengers ahd 389S tons of cargo. She 'landed 27 passengers and 550 tons (mostly exhibition goods) at Hobart. Passengers: For Jlunedin—Mesdameß Stevenson, Scales (and family, 6), Messrs Folland, Newman, Stevenson; and • seven in the steerage. For the Bluff— Mesdames Fry and Gillingham, Miss Millingham, Messrs Navers, Fry, Stewart (and child).

The s.s. Invercargill, with cargo from. Timaru, arrived at the Rattray street wharf at 4 a.m. yesterday, and left again in the afternoon for Invercargill. •■ The s.s. Hauroto left Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon for Sydney, via Cook Strait, i The s,s. Talune, from Melbourne, via Hobart and the Bluff, arrived at Dnnedin at 10.15 a.m. yesterday. Mr J. A. Tubby (her purser) reports that she left Melbourne at 4 p.m. of the 31st ult., lad fine weather, aud passed Swan Island at 1 p.m. of the lst inst., reaching Hobart at 6 a m. Tot the 2nd inst.; left again at noon of that day, experienced line weather, and passed the Solanders at 9 a.m. of the sth mst., and arrived at the Bluff at 3 p.m. same day; left again at 7.30 p.m., nnd reached headquarters as above. : The ship Crusader will be all clear of Her Dunedin cargo to-day. _ , ' The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company s cargo steamer Matatua left the George street pier yesterday evening, for London, via Timaru. Her cargo from Port Chalmers consisted of 400 sacks cats, 650 bales woo], and 13,000 carcases frozen mutton. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company (Limited) have lately purchased for addition to their already fine fleet of cargo steamers, the s.s. Westmeath, UI2C tons register, built in 1893 by the ■well-known Newcastle firm of shipbuilders, Messrs Swan and Hunter, who, are now building the s.s. Aotea to the company's order. The s.s. Westmeath is now undergoing some alterations preparatory to entering the New Zealand trade. She is fast on a moderate coal consumption, superior somewhat to the bold cargo type, and is well fitted with cargo appliances. She will have ample refrigerating power, and will be insulated iv the lower holds and 'tween decks, giving accommodation for about 83,600 carcases mutton, and in addition she will have room for about 7000 bales wool. The vesßel ias been re-named the Tokomaru.

SHE SHAW, SAVILL, AND ALBION COMPANY'S SAILING FLEET.

The Lutterworth left Bristol on September 16, for Wellington and Auckland. The Canterbury waß expected to leave Glasgow, for Otago and Wellington, about October 10. The Asterion is loading at London for Nelson and the Laugstone for Wellington. , The Hudson loads at Glasgow, following the Canterbury on the berth. The Himalaya loads at Liverpool for Wellington nnd Otago. The Glenlora will probably take the berth for ©taja.
