Sib,—ln the report or the meeting of the Education Board in the Otego Witnesß of the 27th September, aa account is given; by. Mi. Fraser of- the facts'of the case re^appointment of Miss White to tlje Moa Creek School. The committee'of the Moa Creek School is reported as hiving written to the board, saying that they could not'accept Miss White as the teacher on account of her religion, as the only availabto lodgings for -female teacher were with people who did hot care to have one of^her religion. »nd the bulk of th. residents were Protestants. As Miss Martin, the late teacher, had.heen lodging in my house untU sh. resigned,.! take it for granted that "the only available lodgin„s " mentioned means my house,' va& I cannot lei this statement go uncorrected. The" chairWano. the 'Mo-Creek Sckool Committee, when; ho heard MiBS Martin was about to resign, asked if I • wohld • accept, • when- Appointed, th- new teacher as a, boarder, to whach I willingly gave 'my; consent," and hsd made-all arrangements for her comfort.-when the'first thing I saw.was the report in the Witness , I have not been spoken to about the boarding of the teacher since I gave my consent to the chairman, and 1 foil to see how the committee could write to the board to that effect.
