Tho sob contest in connection with the New Zealand Bands Association took place to-day,. finishing at 10 p.m. The prizemen are a» follow:— B Flat Cornet.-Glccnic (Invercargill City), SQ points, 1: Rodgers (Vimaru), 71) points, 2; J*. Daviu (Kaikorai), 7S points 3. Sopraco3.—M'Glashan (Ivaimorai), SO points, 1; Bessant (Timaru), 75 point.-. 2. . ' Tonor Horn.—H. Davie (Kaikorai), 57 points- 1; R. Griffiths (Timaru), 5« point?, 2; M-Korsee (Dunedin Navals) and X Morton (rnvercargili City) tied for third plac* with 55 points. _ Baritones.—M'Leod (Oamaru Naval?),7o points, 1; Bartlett (Invercargill Garrison), 65 points, 2. These were the only 'competitors.' , ■ . Trombones.—Bird (Dunedin Navals), SO points, I*. Horn (Dunedin Navals), 7H points, 2; Jenkins (Invercargill Garrison). 7S points, 3. _ Euphoniums—Necklen (Timaru Garrison), &2 points, 1; Boyd (Dunedin Uneine.ers), SO points, 2; O'Brien (Dunedin Nivals), 73, 3. . . 7 Basses.-Albrecht (Sydenham), 54 points, 1; Miller (Dunedin Navals), 63 points, 2. The result of tbe competition has given much satisfaction to the visiting bandsmen, who protested against the inclusion of 'Lithgow (from Tasmania) in the Invercargill Garrison Band for the selection tests.
