I don't think there ever'were representatives sent to - Wellington who have so quickly lost ail confidence of the electors by their wilful disregard of election pledges. I have voted for Ml Pinkerton, but I shall never do ao again. Ii "Elector" likes to bring a petition to me for signature, I shall guarantee to got him.so signatures oi bonte fide electors, .most of whom have voted for the present members. I think it is high time thafc something was done . to help the. Opposition to try and step this deplorable legislation that' is going on. Could another such association ss that recently formed in Auckland (I mean the National Association) not be formed in Dun- ■ edin ? lam snre it only wants starting and it will become one .pf the most useful societies that exist, and not leave all motions, kc to come from one side — such as the Workers' Political League, Knights of Labour, &c, who take that air of importance to themselves as if they, and they ouly, were the people. An association such as I have montioned could look after getting proper candidatesmen of ability and intelligence, and men who could make laws with some reason, and not such wild cat legislation a-i is being brought forward by "party servants, whose only interest it is to keep their party in bo as they may draw their £20 per month.
