SHOOTING COMPETITION.
The Portobello Rifle Club held fhe first competition for prizes on Saturday. There are to lie five competitions, the four highest to count, and a special prize to be given each time for the highest scorer in tho two classsa. Ganges—2oo, 300, snd 500 yards; seven shots at each, range. There was a large turn-out of competitors, but owiog to a baffliug wind the shooting was very poor. The following are the highest scores :—
