I was informed by an acknowledged high authority after examination (the last time I was discharged from the hospital as incurable) that I was afflicted with blindness as a result of my complicated disease, which information made me awfully dull and miserable, for at the time of being discharged from the hospital as incurable I could scarcely see the form of a newspaper, whereas to-day I am thankful to say I can read its pages, although 70 years old, and I hope soon to resume work again after an interval of about two years' idleness. _ Again thanking you for the unremitting attention and great interest you took in my case, I am, Sir, Gratefully yours, H.
