In the Reichstag, the Ohancellor (Connt yon Caprivi) said he bad been urged to annex Tonga In addition to Samoa. Conflicting reports are published regarding the despatch of German warships to Samoa. The Cologne Gazette says the Colonial Society demands that Germany should establish a protectorate over Samoa.
