Auckland, May 5.

Mr A. B. Wright, road engineer, has returned from Russell. In all probability the Government will put the mine up to public auction, subject to conditions.

The monument for the late King George of Tonga, ordered by tho Tongan Government to be executed in Auckland, is being taken to pieces to bo packed and shipped by the outgoing island steamer Upolu.
