MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Hois-DAT, April 30: . (Before Mr. E. H. Carew, S.M:)

Judgment was given for the plaintiff?, with co3t3, in the following undefended cases:—New Zealand Tablet Company (for whom Hr Gallaway appeared) v. Tom Lord1 (Hawke's Bay), claim £i lus, for almanacs supplied; Arthur Hugh Pools (for whom Mr Sim appeared) v. George Thomson [ (Balcluthi), claim £22 10s, for two spring carts Bupplied. Fulton, Stanley, and Co. v. Mary Ann Woodley (Waikouaiti).-Claini £12 Kb 3d, for liquor supplied.—Mr Webb appeared for the plaintiff.—The defendant having paid £12 since tho issue of the. summons, judgment was given for 2s 6d and costs (£2 12s (id), an item of 7s 9d for interest being disallowed.

Alexander Taitbairn (Mosjiel) v. John Elder (Slosgiel).—Claim £13 10s, for rent and for the possession of land and buildings leased to defendant.—Mr Pinch appeared for the plaintiff.— There was no appearance of the defendant, and his Worship ordered him to give up possession of this land and buildings by May 7, 1894, and to pay £1310 aas rent by May 28 and costs (41s). Hoharo Korako Karetai and Mary Karetat (Otakou) v. James and Bathia Pickering.—Claim £16 6s 3d, balance of amount duo for rent of land at Otakou.—Mr Hodgkins appeared for tho plain; tilfs, and Mr Sim tor the- defendants.—After evidence, judgment was given for the defendants, with costs.
