BRIDGE OVER TAIERI RIVER.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sin, —The present Government in their infinite wisdom re Otago Central seem to ignore the solemn fact that the Taieri river is all but impassable either for mail coach, waggon, or buggy. .

Now, Sir, I not only object to this sorfc of proceeding on the part of the County Council of Maniototo, or, if it comes to that, any council. We are paying taxes and rates of a)l kinds, and there is not actually a passable road across the Taieri river. At the same time, when the Otago Central is coming thia way. why not put a railway and traffic bridge.—l am, &c,

Tiama Junction, April 21. F. Tooteix.
