The African possessions of the Republic have more tban 3,000,000 square miles and 30,000,000 inhabitants. — All doubts as to the infectious nature of influenza are set at rest by the further report recently issued under the auspices of the Local Government Board. According to Dr Caldwell Smith, the method tf infection is the breathing of recently-expired air from the lungs of an infected person.
