Mr Paulin Bent us the following forecast last evening : — " Atmospheric disturbances are approaching from S.S.W. and will cause strong N.E. and N.W. winds soon; barometer falling. Indications becoming more settled in 24 hours."

Captain Edwin says the evidences now show easterly gales on the Australian coast, southward of Sandy Cape; also, that the northerly gales indicated on the previous day as probable after midnight on tho 29th may be expected 12 hours earlier at most places southward of Nipier and New Plymouth.
