THE POSTAL CONFERENCE DELEGATES.

(Fbom Our Own Cobrespondeot.) Invebcaeqiix, February 26. The Hinemoa, with the delegates to the Postal Conference and the gueets invited by the Hon; J. G. Ward, numbering in all 68, returned from the trip to the West Coast Sounds at 7.30 this morning. Leaving the Bluff on Thursday afternoon the Hinemoa ran across to Stewart Island, where Paterson Inlet and Half-moon Bay were visited, the beautifully fine weather showing up the island scenery to the best advantage. About 12 o'clock that night, when half-way between Stewart Island and Puysegur Point, it commenced raining very heavily, and continued to do so for the next 36 hours. From Stewßrt Island they went to lJusky Sound, hot calling at Preservation Inlet, as it was.dark when they passed there. From Dusky Sound they went to Wet Jacket Arm, then out through Breaksea Sound and into Doubtful Inlet, and from there to Thompson's Sound and then out to sea on to Milfofd. From Milford they came back to George Sound, and anchored there on Saturday night. As it was so very wet on the first visit to Doubtful Inlet, Breaksea and Dusky Sounds, they called again at these places on their way back on Sunday, when the weather was fine and favourable for seeing the scenery to the beet advantage. The Bluff wis reached at 7.30 this morning, and the party came by special train to Invercargill, stopping en roiite at Ocean Beach to inspect the Hon. <t. 6. Ward's freezing works. In Invercargill the mayor (Mr Raeside) drove the delegates and ladies of the party round the town, and they viewed the surrounding country from the Water Tower. They also inspected the Southland Twine Company's works and Guthrie's woodware factory. i At half-past 10 a special train proceeded to Lake Wakatipu, where they remain to-night and spend part of to-morrow, arriving in Dunedin in the evening.
