The War Office recoups the loss entailed through tbe adoption of the eight hours system in tbe dockyards by reducing sick pay and overtime, and abolishing payment on bank holidays. LOWEST RECORD PRICE FOR WHEAT. English wheat is 'averaging 24a sd, which is a record price. DISASTROUS FIRE. Bellamy's granaries, at Rotherhithe, were destroyed by fire. An immense amount of damage was done. The dock is piled 50ft high with the debris. MEETING OF ROYALTIES. Vienna, February 20. The Czar, the Emperors of Germany and Austria, and the King of Italy have arranged a meeting at Abbazia towards the end of the month. SUICIDE OF AN ABSCONDER. The head cashier of the Austrian State department, who absconded with 100,000 florins, committed suicide in order to avoid ' ANARCHISTS IN FRANCE. - Pabis, February 25. A bomb exploded yesterday in front of a shop at Lyons. No harm was done. , February 26. The police have made farther arrests of Anarchists in the city. Another bomb has been found in Lyons. Numbers of Anarchists, fearing arrest, are leaving London for the Gontinent. Jean Grave, a well-known French writer, has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of IOOOfr for the authorship of a book extolling Anarchy. THE UNITED STATES TARIFF. Washington, February 25. Eight Damocratic senators are in favour of duties on wool, coal, and iron. A caucus has been convened to settle what line of action shall be followed in default of a quorum on Senator Bland's Silver BUI. Many members of the House of Representatives have been arrested for absenting themselves. : February 26. A further amendment to the tariff is pro-, posed in order to conciliate the sugar and coal interests. THE REVOLT IN BRAZIL. Rio dk Janeiro, February 25. Loyalist troops, conveyed in boats and launches, attacked the rebels at VilleGaignon, on the shore of the harbour. The boats were sunk by the fire from the fort, and 400 soldiers perished.
