MINING.
The secretary of the Sandhills Gold Dredging Company (Limited) reports 12oz 2dwt 19gr of gold for four days' dredging. Stopped two days owing to Hoods. Mr Thomas Callender reports 220z 4dwt of gold from tho Matakitaki Gold Dredging Company (Limited) for 86 hours in wash up to Saturday, the 17th inst.
Mr Jabez Burton reports :—"The Ettrick Gold Steam Dredging Company (Limited) washed up 9oz Sdwt Ggr of gold, value i! 36" 9a 4d, for the week ending 17th iust. The river keeps at a high level, carrying along a mass of drift gravel. The Roxburgh gold steam dredge is ready for a start as soon as the river goes clown again."
