CAVERSHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the Caversham Borough Council, held last evening, was attended by the Mayor (Mr J. H. Hancock) and Cra Yates, Rutherford, Wilson, M'Laren, M'Gonigal, Rie, Raston, Silverstone, and Young.

The Inspector reported that the spring at the Second Beach, St. Clair, had been attended to; the mud tanks had been completed; and the water had been extended to Mr _Rutherford's property.—Adopted.

The Drainage, Water, and Sanitary Committee recommended that in future all applications for domestic supplies of water should come before the Water Committee or council, and that a service-cock be fixed on the premises of the consumer]. The committee reported, inter alia, having instructed the inspector to prepare a list of water plant required, and submit the same to next moeting of committee.—The recommendation was referred to the Water Committee, and the rest of the report was adopted.

The Finance Committee reported that the sum of £140 7s 2d had been lodged in the bank since last meeting, and recommended that £40 13s lid (general account), £15 16s 6d (water supply aocount), .-648 4s 5d (St. Clair water supply extension account), £19 153 (separate account), and 10s (special rate account) be passed for payment. The committee recommended that the dog registration fee for 1894 be fixed at 103 for each dog. ■ The clerk was instructed to invite tenders for dog collars. The committee reported that Mr Bevan had given up the grazing of the Recreation reserve. The committee reported having instructed the clerk to post a notice on the weighbridge house that the same would be let for a period of 12 months from January 1, 1894.—Adopted.

The Taieri County Council drew attention to the necessij/y of the road leading from the Main road, Lookout Point, towards Corstorphine, and which forms the boundary between' the borough and the county, beiug repaired.— Referred to the Works Committee.

The clerk was instructed to invite tenders for the lease of the council's endowment of the St. Clair Park for 21 years on bnilding lease; also the present right of the Qaarry reserve for 12 months. .'■',•
